2009 William Fvre, Don Victor

From the Maipo Valley in Chile, this wine is made by Burgundian wine maker William Fvre. The pinot noir grapes are harvested in Pirque, in the high Maipo Valley and have enjoyed the cool influence of the Andes Moutains which give a crisp acidity to the wine. Refreshing aromas of kirsch and strawberries with a gentle hint of spice lead on to silky red fruit flavours. This is a great match for the mustard oil in the dressing as well as the beef in the salad.

Made with the typical southern Rhne blend of grenache, syrah and mourvdre, this is a really classy wine. The syrah lends a peppery spice to the wine which is a great match for the oak-roasted tomatoes in this recipe. This has an abundance of dark fruit and spicy aromas and concentrated, hard-hitting flavours of blackberries and currants on the palate.

2007 Savigny-ls-Beaune, Benjamin Leroux

Was 23.50 Now 17.25

This fantastic red wine is made by Benjamin Leroux, one of Burgundys top producers. Made with the pinot noir grape, this has been aged in oak barrels giving it some spicy notes and a touch of vanilla which, when combined with the high acidity in the wine, will be a brilliant match for the fresh tomatoes, thyme and salad leaves. This would also be great with barbecued red meats and the beef in Susies salad.
