One of the great English traditions is of course afternoon tea. And where better to take it than in one of England’s very first country house hotels?

Named after the celebrated naval officer, Captain Marryat, our afternoon tea uses the loveliest of local ingredients and features sandwiches, cakes, scones, jams and teas that more than do Hampshire proud. (Although we’re happy to admit that our smoked salmon comes from the slightly further afield crystal clear waters of Scotland).

Afternoon tea is served between 3pm and 4.30pm in the restaurant, or in fine weather, on the terrace. It is priced at £29.50 per person.
