Rise of the Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs will be inhabiting a quiet corner of Colden Common this month, transforming Marwell into a Jurassic jungle. Adventurers will be enthralled by the awesome dinosaurs as they come to life with animatronics, roaring or even spitting at anyone who dares to get near them. Look out for the Quetzalcoatlus, armoured Triceratops, spiked Edmontonia, the plated Stegosaurus and the deadly Tyrannosaurus Rex. You might even meet a living Velociraptor!

Three Little Pigs

Three little pigs set out into the world. The first pig decides to build a house of straw, the second a house made of sticks and the third pig chooses to build a house of bricks. Then, along comes a very hungry wolf. Will any of the pigs be smart enough to escape him? Bringing the timeless fairytale to life, Northern Ballet’s Three Little Pigs is the perfect opportunity to introduce your little ones to the magic of live ballet, music and theatre.

Krystle Warren

Her spellbinding combination of soul, folk and jazz is presented with warmth and wit, leaving the audience captivated and hanging on her every word.

Hedgerow Harvest

Do you remember foraging in the hedgerows as a child? Bring the whole family and explore Sir Harold Hillier Gardens’ hedgerows on an interactive foraging walk, part of The Tree Council’s new Hedgerow Harvest History project, which is encouraging people to pass on their foraging skills and stories, whilst helping the next generation to explore – and eat!

Watercress Festival

Alresford plays host to the 10th annual street festival to celebrate watercress – the superb locally grown, delicious and versatile crop. The nationally acclaimed free food festival draws together the local community and food lovers from far and wide for a day of food and fun. Highlights include the street cavalcade at 10.30am, live music, Morris Dancers, cookery demos featuring renowned food writer Lucas Hollweg, food and craft market, Watercress Food Awards and World Watercress Eating Championships.

Wedding Ring Workshop

Say I do with an extra personal touch! Happy couples are invited to make their own or each other’s rings in a fully equipped studio under expert guidance, with lunch and refreshments provided. This very special and unique workshop is brought to you by Daniel Musselwhite, a skilled silversmith with 15 years of experience in jewellery making. A still photograph of the engaged couple will be taken to commemorate the occasion.

Get Your Bake On

Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood will demonstrate recipes, reveal some of the secrets of being a TV chef and take the audience on a journey through his baking life in this live show. Plus there will also be the opportunity for a question and answer session.The show will culminate with four lucky audience members, chosen at random, heading on stage to bake with Paul and win the title of star baker.

Artists of the Great War

‘First’ is an unprecedented touring exhibition; the only one to highlight the work of the artists who served with the Artists Rifles Regiment. With more than 60 works of art on display, the exhibition provides a comprehensive look at the artists, the art they produced and the Regiment itself.

50 Things

Pack the school holidays with adventures and take up the National Trust’s ‘50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4’ challenge. Pick up a free ‘50 things’ scrapbook at a Trust property and collect rewards for climbing trees, building dens, and even making mud pies! Children can also sign up at to discover what’s on, log adventures and unlock secret challenges, as well as get great tips to help families enjoy the outdoors throughout the year.

Gardens of Delight

Gardens of Delight brings together paintings, prints, photographs and sculpture on the theme of gardens, from the late 19th century to the present day, to create a vibrant exploration of what gardens mean to us. Witness works by Phelan Gibb, George Hooper and Daphne Wright; plus, for the first time, the Royal Horticultural Society is lending some of the illustrations of roses that were made by Graham Stuart Thomas – the man who created Mottisfont’s National Collection of Old Fashioned Roses.
