There are frames - and then there are frames created by Peter Ashley from The Artistic Framing Company

Did you know that two original Monets, several Lowrys and paintings by the Bloomsbury artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant have all spent time in Waterlooville?

Frames for these, and many other famous original works of art, have been lovingly created by highly skilled local craftspeople, Julia and Peter Ashley.

From their well-equipped workshop in Waterlooville, Peter and Julia run The Artistic Framing Company and are often tasked with frame restoration and reproduction for priceless masterpieces...regularly completing projects for prominent art galleries and leading interior designers across the country.

Peter said: “We love what we do. It’s hugely satisfying to take a client’s ideas and craft them into reality. Seeing our frames adorn a piece of great artwork makes it all worthwhile.”

The Artistic Framing Company will hand-carve, gild and burnish frames to any size or specification: from opulent and ornate to streamlined and contemporary. They will also refurbish antique frames and offer an interior designer’s dream range of elaborately framed mirrors.

Worthy of becoming family heirlooms, these beautiful frames are made in the traditional way and are works of art in themselves.
