With late-night shopping, fairs, Christmas markets and plenty of food and drink, we’ve rounded up some of the best festive offerings in Hampshire
Portsmouth - Until 29 December
Taking place in the heart of Portsmouth City Centre in Commercial Road, traders will be offering food, crafts, decorations, accessories and more festive items.
Southampton - 14 November-23 December
Head to Southampton's Christmas Festival this year and soak in Bavarian music, carol singers and the stunning Flying Santa Show. Southampton's Christmas lights are switched on at 5pm on the opening day.
Winchester - 21 November-22 December
No guide to Hampshire's Christmas markets would be complete without including the festivities at Winchester Cathedral. Open from 10.30am to 8pm (Thu-Sat) and 10.30am to 6.30pm (Sun-Wed), it is inspired by traditional German Christmas markets and welcomes around half a million visitors each year.
Portsmouth Historic Dockyard - 29 November-1 December
The Dickens Christmas Festival takes place at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard with a number of stalls and activities to keep you amused. Discover local handmade products, see Dickensian street performers and meet the traditional green Father Christmas.
Beaulieu - 21 December-1 January
Head to the Victorian Montagu family home this Christmas and discover a delightful festive atmosphere in Palace House. Victorian cooking, carol singing, mulled punch and Christmas shopping are all on offer.
