Hampshire based landscapers Hambrooks has just won a BALI (British Association of Landscaping Industries) 2013 Award for one of their garden designs

Held at the prestigious Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane London last Friday (6/12), the UK wide industry awards are recognition for design and build where landscaping businesses have demonstrated high levels of design, landscaping skills and professionalism.

Hambrooks Garden Designer Stuart Towner, who is currently studying part time for a BA in Garden Design at Greenwich University, won the award for his innovative renovation of a Georgian walled garden that had been largely neglected with a layout that had no connection to the classic style of the Georgian property.

The brief was to create an outdoor space where entertainment was a major consideration with a design that was not only sympathetic to the style of the house, it was also to have a contemporary feel. Stuart based his designs on the famous Arts & Crafts principles cleverly mixing clean straight lines with flowing and colourful planting schemes while incorporating a stunning water feature that zig zags through the garden separating the formal lawn and borders from the entertainment areas.

Managing Director Norman Hambrook said, “We were in the same category as some very high profile television celebrity designers so I believe this is a great achievement for an independent Hampshire business.”
