A nod to the past

Gracewell Healthcare celebrated the opening of their boutique care home, Parker Meadows as featured in last months Hampshire Life. The 80-bedcare home on the site of the old Tom Parker Dairy, features luxuries such as a nail bar, a gourmet menu and a beauty salon. Residents have access to a library, wifi, iPads and often video call their loved ones.

The home was named Parker Meadows by the pupils of Redlands Primary School. To mark the opening, the home held a 1950s themed day with classic cars, a vintage jukebox and a Punch and Judy show.

Mayor Cllr Dennis Steadman handed out milkshakes from a classic milk float in a nod to the sites heritage. He said: The place is magnificent. It has risen like a phoenix from the ashes and is a wonderful gateway to Fareham.
