Members of Fareham in Bloom were delighted to win the Hampshire Life trophy at the annual South & South East in Bloom awards ceremony.

Fareham in Bloom gained the highest score in the county for their entry into the Small City category. They also scooped Gold Awards for Warsash Common Local Nature Reserve in the Conservation Area category and Holly Hill Woodland Park, which was also named overall winner in the Country Park section.

Other Hampshire winners included Rowhill Nature Reserve in Aldershot, which received a Gold Award in the Conservation Area category, and the Its Your Neighbourhood entrants who won an outstanding award included Crescent Garden and Friends of St Marks, both in Gosport, as well as Shaftesbury Court in Farnborough. Over 320 people attended the awards ceremony at Ferneham Hall in Fareham.

BBC TV gardener Chris Collins presented other main winners with an engraved glass trophy or a certificate. The regional campaign encourages residents and businesses to work together to improve their local environment and thereby contribute to the Southern Water sponsored South & South East in Blooms objectives of making places greener and cleaner and a pleasure to live in, work in and visit.
