A Laz Vagas-themed summer ball held at Moyles Court School raised £1,190 towards a great outdoor learning project.
The black-tie ball took place in a grand marquee on the front lawn. Guests thoroughly enjoyed canapés and fizz on arrival, a delicious 3 course dinner with wine followed by a fundraising auction and raffle. Entertainment included live music from ‘Rat Pack’ singer William May, magic tricks from Dean Nicolas, as well as a casino, bar and disco.
The ball was generously sponsored by SKM Asset Management, and other local business also donated an impressive variety of auction and raffle prizes.
“We had a superb evening of fun and we are immensely grateful to those who came along and supported our fundraising for our Forest School outdoor classroom.,” said the school’s headmaster Richard Milner-Smith. “Our Forest School programme is designed to inspire play and learning in our natural outdoor environment and the proposed eco-classroom will engage our pupils of all ages through positive outdoor experiences.
“We hope that this facility will allow extended delivery of the Forest Schools programme to benefit the local community. Moyles Court School will provide access to the facility free of charge for use by local schools and community groups on a weekly basis with sessions led by our Forest Schools Practitioner. The site is accessible, with adequate parking for mini-buses, allowing schools and groups from a wide radius to access and benefit from the facility.”
This classroom will be an environmentally friendly design, which will blend into the forest location and provide a permanent base for forest school delivery within the Moyles Court School grounds.
