Step back in time and walk down the aisle in a 1950s inspired dress, designed and made right here in Hampshire. And what better location to show some off the designs than a tourist attraction celebrating a golden age?
If you’re looking for a touch of vintage glamour for your wedding, then go back to the future and seek out a 50s-inspired wedding dress.
Louise Rose Couture of Alton is a specialist in these and showed off their creations at a vintage wedding shoot in a highly appropriate setting – the Mid Hants Railway’s Watercress Line at Medstead.
Designer Louise says: “I’ve always been drawn to the 50s style as it is so timeless, classic and suits all women of different ages, shapes and sizes and this era has inspired my designs. The dresses are made by myself and are available at The Wild Hare, on Normandy Street in Alton, which I opened in January 2015. It’s a great feeling to be able to make a made to measure dress for someone and see them light up when they put it on.”
She says many of her brides are looking for something a little less traditional, maybe with some colour: “The silhouettes offer an element of fun combined with vintage glamour. With our occasion wear; we are able to dress all the key ladies in the bridal party, as well as the bride.”
The Louise Rose Couture photo shoot was a team effort, with photography, hair, flower and cake businesses contributing to the day.
